Dear, dear old Bloomsbury. All those squares with all those well-bred Bohemians leading colourful live. Luckily the genteel ambience remains in a few of the area's hidden treasures. And we'd say this Blue Door Bistro restaurant is one such charming gem.

It may be tucked away behind the unassuming Montague hotel front, but it is well worth seeking out. Especially if you've been edifying yourself in the grand halls of the dear, dear British Museum a stone's throw away. The dining room is light, bright and airy, and never gets as squeezed as the rush hour. Infact, it feels like the exact opposite, what with the relaxing staff and the soothing live piano music in the evenings.
