Who would have thought there is such a cosy dining room tucked away near Trafalgar Square? We've been delighted with this hidden gem behind the stately facade of the Thistle Hotel in Charing Cross. It's a little corker of an old-fashioned restaurant. All marble floors, soft leather chairs and the best of British club eating.

No wonder businessmen, theatre-goers and shoppers alike slip in here for some hearty fare and fine wines. Not to mention appreciating the simply stunning views up and down the Strand. We liked the friendly yet discreet service - lots of unfussy attention thank you. You'll easily enjoy celebration dinners, afternoon teas and quick business lunches in here, no debate.
