The beautiful dining room of the Eyre Brothers Restaurant is an oasis amongst the nasty 1970's office blocks around it. Hidden down a road five minutes from Old Street station the chic, this restaurant is all light, glass, dark wood and serenity.

Carefully considered Mediterranean dishes are simply but intensely flavoured, with fresh flavours such as lemon and coriander dominating.

The meal

• Goose foie gras with black truffle, toasted almonds and port wine
• Ensalada Malaguena - home-cured salt cod salad with potato, black olives, orange, onion and garlic
• Seafood salad - prawns, squid, monkfish and mussels - grilled maize, pimentos de piquillo, coriander and lemon
• Grilled Mozambique tiger prawns piri-piri, pilaf rice, cucumber and coriander salad
• Roast fillet of Halibut with capers, casteluccio lentils with lemon, chilli and parsley
• Portuguese style fried rumpsteak, catarini beans and with chard with caramelised garlic and olive oil
