Chez Gerard Bishopsgate - no stripey shirts or berets - just fine French food. a la carte dining

Do you want to eat the best steak frites this side of Paris? Well the reliably good French food at Chez Gerard near Liverpool Street will make you proud.

This smart branch of the well-known brasserie/cafe chain sits in a handsome 18th century building at the heart of the city. You'd be forgiven for thinking it blends the best of British with the finest of French, because it probably does. And being somewhat of a stylish establishment, it boasts the longest real Zinc bar in the Square Mile.

All this makes it a popular venue for relaxed corporate lunches and dinners, as well convivial parties and groups. You simply choose between the lively cafe section downstairs, or the more formal restaurant upstairs. Alternatively, you can opt for an especially intimate dinner with friends in the Private Room. This has also been known to house all manners of meetings, focus groups, brainstorms in its time.

Normally closed over the weekend, Chez Gérard Bishopsgate will happily open for large private groups. Wedding receptions are also warmly welcomed.
