Who would have thought there is such a cosy dining room tucked away near Trafalgar Square? We've been delighted with this hidden gem behind the stately facade of the Thistle Hotel in Charing Cross. It's a little corker of an old-fashioned restaurant. All marble floors, soft leather chairs and the best of British club eating.

No wonder businessmen, theatre-goers and shoppers alike slip in here for some hearty fare and fine wines. Not to mention appreciating the simply stunning views up and down the Strand.
