Additional Information

Covent Garden Grill, London - hip new chill 'n party place - a la carte dining

Cool, laid-back and undeniably happening, well, this could be your current squeeze, or it could just be our favourite modern West End grill.

You will like the Covent Garden Grill - partly because it is - plain and simple. And partly as it's a cool place in an expensive area that refuses to charge rip-off prices. There it is, just off the Piazza, all done out in hip taupe and mocha, with smart and beautiful people. What's not to like? And it should be your wallet's worst nightmare - but it's not.

Instead, its a funky new take on the traditional Steak House. The relaxed grill menu doesn't have to try too hard - it's got high quality steaks to do all the talking for it. It's also got some contemporary gems, such as teriyaki salmon with soba noodle, and Lebanese chicken breast with Mediterranean couscous.

This is a supremely easy place to chill and eat. It's also pretty right for hanging out with friends. All those comfy sofas and cosy spots to crash in...

Staff pick

This is one of Covent Garden's newest restaurants, and one of the best. As its name implies, it serves traditional food at a very high level: the steaks are among the best I've ever tasted, and the lamb is also excellent. There are good vegetarian dishes as well, and a very lively wine list.

The deserts will drive dieters mad, and they serve a great gin martini. The atmosphere is young and cool without being self-conscious; the décor is minimalist but warm and welcoming, and with last orders at 23.30.It's an ideal place for anyone going to see a West End show.
